With lead wall climbing, your safety depends heavily on the quality of equipment. As opposed to “top-roping”, it does not have an anchor attached to the top, which makes it more challenging. It’s crucial to have good harnesses, clips and quickdraws to reduce the risk of a fall. Not to mention, an experienced belayer.
